Hunter's Moon 2026: October 25-26. It starts hard. Predictions for all Zodiac Signs. 5 Zodiac Signs are Challenged, 4 are favored

Welcome to the night of the Hunter’s Moon 2026. Tonight, with all these retrograde planets coinciding with the Full Moon, some special nights are ahead of us… are you witches ready?

Why This Full Hunter’s Moon 2026 Is Different

Twelve or thirteen times a year the Moon reaches her fullness. Only rarely does she do it at the degree where the ancients said she is most herself.

Taurus is the Moon’s exaltation, her ὕψωμα, the sign where she is honored like a guest of state. Ptolemy explains the logic in the Tetrabiblos: the Moon meets the Sun in Aries, the Sun’s own exaltation. The first sign in which she visibly grows in light is Taurus, which is also the first sign of her own earthy triplicity. So Taurus is where her waxing begins in earnest. Firmicus Maternus and the later tradition narrow the honor down to a single degree: 3° Taurus.

This Hunter’s Moon reaches its peak at 2°45′ Taurus. Within about twenty-five minutes of the exact Full Moon, the Moon crosses 3° Taurus, the exact degree of her exaltation, while lit completely by the Sun opposite her. She is at her fullest light in the place of her greatest dignity, and you will not see that combination often.

The ancient Greeks would have recognized her immediately. The Orphic Hymn to Selene calls her taurokerōs, the bull-horned, because the crescent Moon curves like a pair of horns. In some ancient accounts Selene’s chariot is drawn by white bulls. When the Moon enters Taurus, the bull-horned goddess is entering the sign of the bull.

That is the gift of this lunation: the Moon is strong, steady and generous. Most of what follows is about the forces pushing against that strength.

Chart Analysis: The Exalted Moon and the Planets Pressing on Her

The two luminaries: two sets of loyalties

Each luminary sits almost entirely under one planet’s authority, and those two planets are Venus and Mars.

The Moon at 2°45′ Taurus is in a sign ruled by Venus and in the bounds of Venus, the Egyptian bounds that run from 0° to 8° Taurus. She sits in the first decan, whose face belongs to Mercury. Venus governs both her sign and her bounds, so Venus is the lord of her substance.

The Sun at 2°46′ Scorpio is in a sign ruled by Mars, in the bounds of Mars (0°–7° Scorpio), and in the face of Mars, the first Chaldean decan of Scorpio. Mars governs his sign, bounds and face. The Sun has handed himself over to Mars completely.

So this Full Moon puts a Venus-ruled Moon opposite a Mars-ruled Sun. The opposition is between what we want to keep, hold, enjoy and own, and what we are made to share, surrender, transform or fight for. It is the oldest pairing in astrology, and in this chart it is nearly pure.

Sect: a night-sect lunation

The tradition divides the planets into two teams, called sects. The diurnal sect is the Sun, Jupiter and Saturn. The nocturnal sect is the Moon, Venus and Mars.
Strictly speaking, sect depends on whether the Sun is above or below the horizon at a given place, and with readers all over the world, the Sun is up for some and down for others. Even so, a Full Moon is the night sect’s moment by its nature. The Moon holds the sky from dusk until dawn, and the planets that control this chart, Venus and Mars, are both nocturnal.
The night sect is in charge here. The Moon is exalted, and her ruler Venus is in her own domicile. The malefic who carries the weight of this chart is Mars, the night sect’s own malefic. Valens would say that a malefic of the sect in favor harms less than one out of sect, because his sharpness comes with purpose. The tension in this chart is real, but it is the kind that builds something rather than wears it down.

Venus: the absent landlady comes home

The Moon’s ruler is Venus, and Venus is doing something unusual.

A retrograde planet returning to its domicile is like someone going back to their house to fetch something they forgot. For Venus, that means relationships, agreements, money and values are being reviewed, and the review is being done carefully rather than in a hurry. She stations direct on November 14 at 22°52′ Libra.

Mars: the Sun’s ruler, by square

There is a difference worth noticing. Venus cannot see the Moon she rules. Mars can see the Sun he rules, but only through conflict. So the Scorpio side of this Full Moon, meaning debt, shared resources, secrets, endings and power, has an active ruler who is watching and ready to step in. The Taurus side, meaning comfort, security and possessions, has a ruler who is currently elsewhere.

Pluto: the exact square

Pluto in Aquarius stands for the collective, systems, networks and technology that serve the many. Set against the personal ownership of Taurus and the shared resources of Scorpio, it pressures what individuals hold and what institutions control. The Moon applies to this square almost immediately after the Full Moon, so it is the first thing she touches.

Mercury retrograde, two days old

Mercury retrograde in Scorpio sends communication back toward the hidden: files that were thought closed, confessions, investigations, second readings of contracts, and conversations that reach the thing nobody said the first time. He is also moving backward into an applying square to Mars, which suggests sharp words, tempers that flare in writing, and disputes about who said what.

The Moon’s path after fullness

After the Full Moon, the Moon makes these aspects in order before she leaves Taurus:
1. A square to Pluto, almost immediately
2. A square to Mars
3. An opposition to Mercury
4. A square to Jupiter, her last aspect in the sign

The sequence starts heavy and ends with a benefic. Pressure comes first, then conflict, then a reckoning with words. The last word goes to Jupiter, a square from the greater benefic. The story of this lunation ends with some mercy, though it has to be earned.

World Predictions

Hunter’s Moon points to around the world in the weeks ahead.

Food, land and the price of comfort. Taurus is the earth sign of crops, cattle, land and stored wealth. With an exalted Moon here and Pluto squaring her, expect agricultural markets, food supply and land ownership in the news. The headlines may not be about scarcity so much as about who controls the supply: the conflict between private holdings and collective systems.

Debt, credit and what lies beneath. The Sun in Scorpio, ruled by Mars and with Mercury retrograde in the same sign, highlights shared money: credit, insurance, inheritance, taxes and the hidden balance sheet. Revelations about money that was borrowed, hidden or misused come to the surface. Audits and investigations gain momentum, and old records get reopened.

Agreements reopened. Venus retrograde in Libra, on its final degree, works directly on treaties, alliances, partnerships and trade deals. Expect deals that seemed settled to be revisited, and diplomatic relationships to be renegotiated. Since Venus does not station direct until mid-November, most of these reviews will not be resolved before then.

Ritual: The Bull-Horned Moon’s Abundance Offering

The ancient Greeks offered the amphiphōn, a round cake ringed with small lit torches, to Artemis at the Full Moon, so that the cake shone like the Moon itself. With the Moon exalted in an earth sign, this is a night for a quiet, grounded version of that kind of offering, focused on keeping and stabilizing what you already have rather than reaching for more.
You’ll need: a round loaf or cake · honey · a pinch of salt · a few grains of wheat or any whole grain · a white candle (or several tea lights, placed safely) · a small dish

1. Set the bread or cake on the dish, drizzle it with honey, and place the candles around it in a ring, keeping them well away from anything flammable.
2. Light the candles. Name aloud three things you already have that you want to keep: health, a home, a love, a skill, a friendship.
3. Scatter the grain around the plate as you speak: “What is planted, let it hold. What is held, let it grow.”
4. Add the pinch of salt for protection. Pluto’s square is a reminder that some forces will test what you hold.
5. Let the candles burn while you sit with the Moon for a while, then extinguish them; never leave a flame unattended.
6. Eat part of the bread yourself, and leave the rest outside for the birds or bury it in soil the next morning: an offering to the earth that Taurus rules.
Venus is retrograde, so this is a ritual of keeping, not acquiring. Bless what is already yours. When Venus turns direct in mid-November, the season for reaching for more begins.
