Cancer New Moon Shamanic Ritual: Return to Soul-Home

Timing: During the 24–30th June window when the Cancer energy is ripe 

What you’ll need:

• White or silver candle (symbolizing Moon & Cancer)
• Bowl of purified water (to honour Cancer’s watery nature)
• A soft cloth or shawl (for womb/home energy)
• Pen & paper and small jar or bowl

1. Create a Sacred Space

Cleanse your altar or chosen space using smoke, herbs, or water. Light your white candle and drape your shawl around your shoulders to create a womb-like container for the ritual.

Begin with this blessing:

“I return to the sanctuary within. May this space hold me in open-hearted presence.”

2. Ground & Connect With Elements

Hold the bowl of water, dip your fingertips in, and gently touch your forehead, heart, and lower belly—naming each a container of memory, feeling, and creativity. Speak this affirmation:

“I bathe in my own tides. I return home to my heart.”

3. Ancestral Invocation & Inner Home

Softly call in your ancestors, lineage-holders, and the Mother energies that shaped you. Invite them to witness.
Take paper and write:

• One line about what “home” feels like deep in your body
• One line naming what emotional pattern or wound you release now (fold or burn it safely afterward)
• One line naming what you call in: warmth, belonging, soulful sanctuary

Place these words either in a bowl to dissolve (water ritual) or burn them, symbolizing release and rebirth.

4. Planting the Soul-Seeds

Focus quietly on your intentions. Speak or visualize them into the flame:

“With this New Moon and the blessing of Cancer’s heart, I plant seeds of sanctuary, belonging, and emotional safety. May they grow with strength and gentleness.”

Feel rooted into the earth below, envisioning gentle yet determined shoots rising from your core.

5. Shamanic Dance & Drum

If you have a drum, rattle, or your own voice, intone a simple tone or rhythm. Let it reverberate around you, through you. Feel it echo in the marrow of your bones. Allow your body to answer—sway, breathe, resonate—with soft reverence.

Pleiades were very important to ancient people and practitioners. Let’s see why! Here are some highlights of their significance in the ancient world:

Ancient Greece:

In Greek religion, the Pleiades were the seven daughters of the titan Atlas and the nymph Pleione. They were named Maia, Electra, Taygete, Alcyone, Celaeno, Sterope, and Merope. According to legend, the Pleiades were transformed into stars by Zeus to protect them from the unwanted attention of Orion the Hunter.

Hinduism:

In Hinduism, the Pleiades are known as the Krttika (or Karttika), believed to be the wives of the seven Rishi sages corresponding to the seven stars of the Great Bear constellation. It is said that when the Rishis doubted the faithfulness of their spouses, six of the stars separated from the group to become the Pleiades, while the seventh remained with the Rishi. This myth is also present in other cultures, where the Pleiades are associated with the seven good spirits in the Vedas and the Zendavestas. In Hindu mythology, the Pleiades are frequently linked to the Krittikas, known as the Seven Mothers or Seven Wives of the Seven Rishis. The Krittikas play significant roles in various legends and tales within Hindu lore.

Japanese Heritage:

In Japanese folklore, the Pleiades are known as “Subaru,” meaning “to govern” or “unite.” They are associated with the goddess Amaterasu, the sun deity and a symbol of the Japanese imperial family. Subaru, the Japanese car manufacturer, even adopted the Pleiades star cluster as its logo.

Ancient Babylonians:

The Pleiades were highly regarded in Babylonian religion. The Babylonians mentioned the Pleiades cluster in their astronomical records, and it was called “MUL.MUL” (“star of stars”). They used the rising and setting of the Pleiades to mark important ritual and agricultural times.

Native American Cultures:

Different Native American tribes throughout North America hold varying cultural significance for the Pleiades. For example, the Hopi tribe in Arizona observes the Pleiades as the “Katsinam” (ancestral spirits) who visit the Earth during the Pleiades’ appearance in the pre-dawn sky, which signals the beginning of their ceremonial year.

Astronomically, the Pleiades are a young star cluster, and studying them provides valuable information about stellar evolution. Merope is sometimes considered the “lost” Pleiad, as she is associated with withdrawal, hiding, or not shining as brightly as her sisters. Hence, she represents secrecy, being elusive, or choosing a different path than expected. As she is linked with the crown chakra, she is not easily seen through material eyes. Only when all sisters are aligned she shines brightly, reminding us to cut the ties from the material world.

What energy do you want to manifest?

Take a candle of the color you need. Choose one. If you don’t have the appropriate color of the candle then use a white one which substitutes all colors. Then, inscribe the name of the sister. Light it at midnight. Meditate on your wish.

You can ask from any of the sister tonight your wish. But also, you can write down 7 things you want to banish from your life (remember tonight some traditions practice the Druid Samhain), and 7 things that your want you attract in your life! At midnight, go outside to meet the Pleiades, and tell them what you want to banish and what you want to attract!

Wednesday’s Full Moon in Sagittarius arrives on June 11th at 8:42am BST bringing adventure, intrigue, restlessness and opportunities for great growth. Coinciding with the lunar standstill — the culmination of an 18.6-year cycle. The Moon will rise and set at its most southerly point on the horizon, carving an arc of maximum deviation across the sky. It’s a moment of celestial rebellion, a cosmic break from the usual rules, and it mirrors what many of us are feeling within: a pull towards our wild truth, our uncharted territory. A place of tension, release, and reorientation. The Moon here doesn’t obey the solar order. It challenges it. It demands freedom. If you’ve felt constrained by external expectations or inner doubts, this is a clarion call to break the spell and write a new narrative.

Positioned at 20 degrees Sagittarius, the Moon is forming a fiery opposition to the Sun in Gemini. Gemini gathers facts. Sagittarius weaves those facts into new myths.  “Truth Fire: A Sagittarius Full Moon Ceremony”
For Liberation, Expansion & Realignment

This ritual is designed to help you release outdated beliefs, call back your fire, and walk forward with renewed clarity and courage.

You Will Need:

• A purple or red candle (for spiritual clarity and fire)
• A fire-safe bowl or cauldron
• Paper and pen
• A sprig of rosemary or sage
• A favourite object that represents your personal truth (a talisman, photo, feather, etc.)

Ritual Steps:

1. Open the Space
Light your candle. Gently wave your rosemary or sage over your body and around your space, cleansing away old energies.

Say aloud:

“I call upon the wild truth of Sagittarius, the wisdom of fire, the vision of Jupiter. May this ritual guide me home to myself.”

2. Speak the Old Story
Write down one limiting belief, old narrative, or worn-out truth that’s been holding you back. Read it aloud. Feel it leave your body.

Burn the paper in your fire-safe bowl. As the flames consume it, whisper:

“I release this story with gratitude. It no longer defines me.”

3. Call in the New Vision
Hold your talisman to your heart. Close your eyes. Visualise your next chapter. What does your expanded self believe, know, or do differently? When ready, write it down in a single sentence starting with:

“My truth is…”

Read it aloud three times. Let it imprint into your cells.

4. Seal the Ceremony
Place your written truth on your altar or keep it somewhere sacred. Blow out the candle slowly and say:

“May this fire keep burning in me. May I walk the road that’s mine, with courage and joy.”
