Each period in Feng Shui spans 20 years, and the transition from one period to another marks a significant shift in the elemental influences. Period Eight, which reigned from 2004 to 2023, was characterized by the stabilizing and grounding Earth element. Now, as we step into the embrace of Period Nine, the elemental shift is palpable—a transition from Earth to the dynamic and transformative Fire element.

From Earth to bright Fire

February 4th, the solar Feng Shui new year, is when this energetic transition begins.  Every year on this date the 9 stars fly to different compass directions bringing a shift in auspicious and inauspicious directions according to feng shui astrological theory. However, this year marks a major shift as we leave Period 8 behind which has governed the astrological chi for the last 20 years and step into the next 20-year period known as Period 9. This is a significant milestone in Flying Star Feng Shui because it is when the stars transition into their next Chi states, and when a whole host of new influences begin to take effect.

In Flying Star Feng Shui, there are 9 periods altogether; each one ties to a sector in the Lo Shu Magic Square, commonly known as the Bagua map in feng shui. Each period lasts 20 years and is governed by a number, with each number being associated with particular energetic qualities, giving us an indication of what kind of luck patterns any particular period will bring.

Each period takes on the characteristics of the Trigram that rules that period. Period 8, the period we are about to leave, is ruled by the Trigram KEN, represented by the Earth element, and typically bringing stability and growth. The coming Period of 9 is ruled by the Trigram LI. By contrast, this Trigram is represented by Fire, which brings brilliance and innovation, but also volatility and instability.

The Year of the Wood Dragon

In addition, 2024 is also the Year of the Wood Dragon beginning on the Chinese lunar new year of February 10th. These two transitions together usher in immense transformational shifts, as the wood of the Dragon will fuel the transformative fires of period 9 suggesting big changes in the world and in the way we do things.  More than anything the next 20 years will see an ideological shift on the planet. – A candle or fire source 

– Paper and pen

– Paint, colouring supplies, clay, etc.

Most people have forgotten that 1835 was marked by many people as the year we found life on the Moon. Wait, what? Well, on the 25th of August, in the year 1835, an extraordinary event unfolded within the pages of the renowned New York Sun newspaper. This remarkable series of articles captivated readers and unveiled an astounding ‘discovery’: the existence of life on the moon. As you can easily understand the News spread like wildfire. Why? Because of those who allegedly signed the articles. So, the origins of these articles were believed to be from the esteemed Edinburgh Journal of Science, accompanied by the byline of Dr. Andrew Grant, a purported associate of the esteemed astronomer Sir John Herschel.

The curious case of 1835’s “Life on the Moon”

Let’s take the story from the beginning. Sir John Herschel had embarked on a momentous expedition, journeying to Capetown, South Africa, in January 1834. There, he established an observatory equipped with a groundbreaking telescope. As Dr. Grant recounted in his articles, Herschel made extraordinary findings on the moon. He unveiled a bewildering array of life forms, including mythical creatures such as unicorns, bipedal beavers, and bat-like humanoids with luxuriant fur-covered wings. The articles also vividly depicted the moon’s landscape, featuring colossal craters, resplendent amethyst crystals, meandering rivers, and luxuriant vegetation of known and not-known plant species.

The New York Sun, a newspaper formed in 1833, embraced a narrative style of journalism, appealing to a broader readership through its affordable pricing. As soon as the first article of the Moon Hoax circulated, the newspaper experienced a surge in sales. It was probably a favorable year for space observation as Halley’s Comet was also predicted for 1835. Just imagine… Public was lusting for space news.

As news of the lunar “discoveries” spread, it quickly became ‘viral’. Not only were other publications reprinting the story, but they were also affirming its truthfulness. Debates centered not on whether the series was genuine, but rather on the degree of authenticity.

What happened there?

The narrative seemed too remarkable, too captivating to be disregarded. However, the falsity of the hoax concealed hints for those who cared to investigate. Later it was revealed that the esteemed Edinburgh Journal of Science, the source of the supposed findings, had ceased publication months before.

The tale was enthralling, igniting the imaginations of readers far and wide. However, unbeknownst to the enthralled audience, none of it was grounded in reality. The Edinburgh Journal of Science had ceased publication long before, and Dr. Andrew Grant was nothing more than a fictitious character. Instead, it is believed that Richard Adams Locke, a Sun journalist with a Cambridge University education, penned these riveting articles as a form of satire, aimed at ridiculing earlier speculations about extraterrestrial life.

Despite its satirical intent, the charming hoax managed to deceive readers, who failed to perceive it as such. Even a committee of esteemed scientists from Yale University fell victim to the ruse, journeying to New York in search of the elusive Edinburgh Journal articles. Mired in a game of deception orchestrated by Sun employees, who surreptitiously shuttled the scientists back and forth between various offices, the learned Yale researchers departed for New Haven none the wiser, entirely unaware of the elaborate prank that had been played on them.

The Sun finally confessed to the hoax on the 16th of September, 1835. Surprisingly, the public responded with good-humored amusement, and the newspaper’s sales remained unaffected. The Sun continued its operations until the year 1950 when it merged with the New York World-Telegram. This amalgamation itself endured until 1967. A subsequent incarnation of the New York Sun emerged in 2002, but it bore no connection to its illustrious predecessor.

2023: More War / War in Middle East

“Seven months of great war, people die because of evil but Rouen, Evreux will not fall into the hands of the king.” 

As we correctly predicted this was not about the war in Ukraine. A new war started in Middle East with thousands casualties. The war of the 7 months may be this one. Hence, unfortunately we may need to wait another three – four months for the raging flames to go off.

Four Nostradamus Predictions for 2024:

Let’s take a look of what predictions the famous french astrologer made for the new year!

1. An Earthquake that will shock us

Nostradamus predicted a physical catastrophe that will shock a city where a big theatre is housed in the 20th day of Taurus. The prediction has to do with the day when the Sun is on the 20th degree of Taurus (hence around 10 of May).

“Le vingtième jour du Taureau, le soleil fera trembler la terre / Le grand théâtre emballé s’effondrera / L’air, le ciel et la terre s’obscurciront et deviendront nuageux / Quand le faux dieu et les saints seront emportés.”

Does this has to do with Hollywood or does it refer to a city with a famous ancient theatre (like Athens or Rome?). We sincerely hope none.

2. A New Pope will Rise (and will last)

The current Pope (pontifex) is 84yo and someone who stabilized the Christian church and has done many things that christianity should be proud of. If the predictions are true then a much younger one will replace him.

Actually this prophecy is pretty clear. It foretells about a new and young pope who will replace the “very” old one and bring at first talks about his age, but later he will prove them wrong!

The last thing we all need is another war. But Nostradamus seems to foretell about a war with China (or Russia?). The color red was attributed to communist nations. China is still a communist country although some feel that Putin’s Russia is actually the same thing.

This is a Magical Night. Tonight is Will rain stars, the night of Geminids. Geminids, also known as The King Of Meteor Showers, peaks around the Full Moon. This amazing meteor shower, will be active from 4 December to 17 December. It can reach up to 150 (!!!) meteors per hour at its peak which is anticipated around December 14th, the greatest show of the year, the Geminids Meteor Shower.

The Geminids meteor shower is one of the most anticipated and active meteor showers of the year. It usually occurs from December 4th to 17th, peaking around 13-14. So, this year it peaks tonight! Also, as this year it aligns with the New Moon, if the weather allows it, you can enjoy the most amazing night show!

The Geminids get their name from the constellation Gemini, as they appear to radiate from this point in the sky. However, you can observe the meteors from anywhere in the world – including the southern hemisphere, as long as you have a clear and dark sky. To have the best viewing experience, you should find a location away from city lights and light pollution. Dress warmly, as December nights can be chilly, and bring a comfortable chair or blanket to sit or lie on.

The Geminids are known for their high number of bright meteors, with rates of up to 120 meteors per hour at the peak. They are usually slower-moving and leave long-lasting trails, making them easier to spot and enjoy. It’s not necessary to use any special equipment to observe the Geminids.
