How to Change Your Eye Colour

Seduction as form of magic is a practical simple magical act that is used to attract (or we may say create) something from the same thing. It’s most common use is to create an illusion from the imagination of the sorcerer. The sorcerer creates the illusion strongly enough in his or her mind and this illusion becomes visible to the others. What kind of Illusion? What if we told you that you can ‘change your Eye Colour’ ? 

How to Change Your Eye Colour

Since the so-called real world is in fact a strong a generally accepted illusion, if the illusion created by the sorcerer grows strong enough, then it becomes, what we call, reality, and then on the illusion sustains itself as any other part of reality.

What I mean is that a sorcerer for example may imagine (thus creates the illusion in his own mind) that there is a wall in front of him. If this illusion is strong enough then maybe more people see the wall and then maybe all people see the wall, and as the illusions grows stronger and stronger, the wall manifest itself and then on the imagination, or spiritual power, of the sorcerer is not needed in order for the wall to continue exist.

Now, I would also like to mention that the subconscious mind of a person is easier to see an illusion than the conscious mind. Therefore, in the previous example, it is possible that after a while, people that were in the place the illusion of the wall was created, may remember the existence of the wall even though as long as they were there they may did not see the wall. Now, this is the form of magic we are going to employ to achieve the change of the eye colour of oneself.

The Spell to Change Your Eye Colour

Unless you are very talented, the permanent change of your eyes’ colour may take some time to be achieved, but if you want it enough and you are willing to offer enough time to this, you are going to achieve it.

Choose the colour you want your eyes to have. The human mind finds it more possible to make a change to a colour that nature may provide to someone’s eyes, but if you want, even red, yellow or purple is possible. Now take some colour paper of the same colour in various shades, and have them all around you. If it is possible, have no other colour around you. Concentrate on the colour. Feel the vibrations of it, feel its energy. Listen to its sound, taste its taste, feel the colour however you can. Think only of the colour. When your mind is full of the colour, close your eyes and see and feel the colour all around you. If you cannot do that, reopen your eyes and observe the colour more, until you can easily see and feel the colour with closed eyes. Some people need more than one day to achieve this goal, so be patient. It is in your abilities.

When you have achieved this goal, you are ready for the next step. Send this entire colour to your eyes, and more accurate, to the iris of the eye. Fill the iris with this colour. Feel its vibration in your eyes as well as being radiated from your eyes. When you have a constant and secure feeling of that, you may say something like: “My eyes are now red”, or whatever colour you have chosen, and open your eyes.

Do not go to the mirror. Do not ask your family members or your closest friends what colour your eyes are. For you and your closest people the illusion of your previous eye colour is strong, so you and they may not see the new illusion at first. Just be sure you have achieved your goal and go out and see what happens. If you want to ask somebody about the colour of your eyes, ask somebody you have just meet. Or ask a friend through the telephone if they have noticed your colour contact lenses and if they liked them. Their unconscious mind may remember the changed colour and providing them with an reasonable excuse (the contact lenses) they may feel free to express what they remember.

Continue practising this technique until the change is visible to everybody, or until the change is permanent, depending on what you want to achieve. You can also use the same technique for the colour of your hairs if you prefer, or even for the colour of your skin. It is wiser though to practise in small areas, like your eyes, before going on to large areas, like your skin, as you will need better focusing to create an illusion that big.

Although the post about the Vedic Saturn is expected, I thought that it would be a good time to post an article about the genealogical tree of the Gods of the Planets in Vedic Astrology. And here it is.

Now, notice that Sage Atri may be son of Great Lord Brahma, and also, the most commonly believed opinion is that Lord Kuja (Mangala) is born by Great Lord Siva.
 
Also, remember not to confuse God Chandra with the Asura Chandra, son of Sage Kasyap, neither God Shukra (the God of Venus) with the Sage Shukra, son of Great Lord Brahma, and therefore uncle of God Shukra.
 
Vedic Astrology finds no need to use the three “new” planets as western astrology does, so there are no gods related to them. As for the North and South node of the Moon, they are an Asura.
 
In the picture the Gods of the Planets are in red colour as to be easily distinguished from the other names and also there are more relatives whom I do not mention as they have nothing to do with the relations of the Grahas and they would make the tree much more complicated, and my purpose was to simplify the picture as for to give you an idea about how these gods are related to each other.

Now notice that the Sun and the Moon are mentioned as Titans and siblings of Saturn and not as Apollo and Artemis, children of Zeus (Jupiter), as the names we use are Sun and Moon. Finally Aphrodite (Venus) can also be daughter of Uranus.

Snake Magic and the Hindu Naga Kings

Maybe one of the most mesmerising beings of nature for the human mind is the snake. From the ancient times until nowadays they seduce and terrify the humans and have become symbols of great good and great evil, Gods and Demons.

Snake Magic & the Naga

In Hinduism there are two great divine snakes (naga), two great Naga Kings, Lord Shisa (Shesa, Sheesa, Shisha, Shesha) and Lord Vasuki. Lord Shisa is the multi-headed cobra on who Great Lord Vishnu rests, and Lord Vasuki is the one who rests around the neck of Great Lord Siva.

As about how these two Naga Kings came to exist and how great Gods they are it is a subject of discussion and controversy, but the divinity and the pure nature of these snakes is not.

The Bagavata Purana calls Lord Shisa as Ananta or Ananta Shisa, meaning Eternal or Eternal Shisa as Shisa has never started existing and will never cease to exist. Instead, according to the Bagavata Purana, Shisa is in fact an incarnation (Avatar) of the Supreme God. Now, this can be any one of the Trimurti (Great Lord Brahma, Great Lord Vishnu, Great Lord Siva). The first time that this is mentioned in the 5th Canto of the Purana it is not clear. Only later (Cantho 5 and 10) the Purana connects Shisa with all three Gods in a way that Shisa can be a form or a son of Brahma, the original form or an Avatar of Vishnu, the original form or an Avatar of Siva (Rudra).

Now, the Purana describes Shisa as thousand-headed one, but the most common appearance of Shisa is the five headed. In both cases his body is enormously big.

Also, Lord Shisa is ruler of the Ego expressed both as pride and as self-identification. Shisa will destroy the world in the end of this Time and will give birth to it again at the beginning of the next Time (in the form of one of the eleven Rudras – who are manifestations of the Great Lord Siva Rudra). As that is personification of the Time itself. He is also the source of all supernatural and superfine qualities that are.

In some cases Lord Vasuki is a brother of Lord Shisa. He also has a thousand heads but he most usually appears as one-headed, and he also is a Naga King. As said previously, he usually appears to rest around the neck of Great Lord Siva, and he maybe is the snake that rests around the neck or the belly of Lord Ganesha (who can be son or incarnation of Siva).

Lord Vasuki usually appears in the story of Samutra Manthan (which I will mention in the post regarding the planets Rahu and Ketu) in both Ramayana and Mahabharata. According to Mahabharata Lord Shisa and Lord Vasuki are the first and second sons of Lady Kardu, one of the wives of Lord Kasyap (who is also father of Lord Surya and the Sun Gods from his wife Adity, father of the Asuras from his wife Dity, father of Lord Aruna and Lord Garunda from his wife Vinata, and father of all the snakes from his wife Kardu).

Lord Vasuki’s poison is both beneficial and catastrophic. In the first book of Mahabharata it is said that from the poison of Vasuki a refreshing rain fall upon the Deva and the Asura.
 
Lord Vasuki symbolises protection, forgiveness and salvation. He is well worshiped in India and he protects some villages. He even has his own priests.

In Buddhism, Lord Vasuki (and some other Naga Kings) protects the Buddha and in some cases other enlightened beings. And his protective kindness appears also in other countries such as China and Japan.

In Hinduism Shisa resides in the skies and under Earth, and Vasuki resides in the spiritual waters (the Kingdom of Lord Varuna) and under Earth, connecting the divine snake with the nature, subconscious, the psychic powers and the spiritual powers.

Who is the Kundalini?

Another snake-like being in Hinduism is Goddess Kundalini who appears in the form of a fiery snake and symbolises the sexual energy. Lady Kundalini resides in the genitals of all living beings. Also it is worth saying that some of the mantras of Kundalini are used to change bad luck into a good one.

On the other hand, the most of the rest of the sons and daughters of Lady Kardu are evil in nature, and they are symbols of all evilness, and the lack of divine spirituality. They represent the evil magic and the evil beings. This is why the mantras of their enemy, Lord Garunda, not only protect people from snakes and skake’s poison, but also protect from black magic and heal the effects of such magic.

Snake Magic in Ancient Greece

In ancient Greece the snake is symbol of spirituality and health. And that is why the snakes appear on the sceptre o God Asclepius and on the Kerykeion of Hermes. Ouroboros, the snake that eats its tale represents the endless time.

Snake and the Bible

In the Old Testament the snake appears at first as a symbol or a form of Satan that allures Eva to eat the forbidden fruit. Later on, Moses will use the image of a snake on the top of his wand to protect his people.

Even later on St Peter will see a vision of snakes, worms and the likes and will be asked to take something of these and eat. He will refuse to do so saying that they are disgusting. But the voice (the God) will question his judgment saying “Who are you to call any of my creations disgusting?” relieving the snakes of their absolute evil symbolism in the eyes of the Christians (in this vision the snakes, worms etc are supposed to be St Paul).

So the symbol of the snake and therefore the use of the snake as a Totem can be for many causes such as

How to make and how to use Magic Squares
to fulfill your Desires


In this post we will present you two magic squares which seem to be the same, as they have the same lines of numbers, yet the first and third lines change places. Both squares have the same numbers (from 1 to 9), a total sum of 45, and every row and every column sums up to 15, as well as the diagonals. But the uses of each are different. The first square is used to fulfill any desire, whilst the second one is used to remove evil influences. Now, how to prepare and use each square?

          
Preparing and Charging the first square, the Magic Square to Fulfill your Desires. 
 
During the first face of the Moon – Waxing Moon (from the night after the New Moon until the night of the First Quarter), write on a piece of paper using preferably Dragon’s Blood Ink the square and then the numbers from 1 to 9. Do not write each line in order, but follow the numbers.
          
Use a piece of wood to write the numbers which you have made it to a pen of 11cm length. While writing the square use only an oil lamp for light, and have incense of flowers or fruits burning. The choice of the exact incense is yours. Now on the back side of the square write down your wish.
          
While writing the square do not speak and be concentrated to your wish. Then smoke the square with the incense, and after that put it between your palms in a praying position and while doing so, pray for what you want and visualise having it.
          
Do this for seven days. If possible, keep the oil lamp lighted for the whole period. Do not put the square on the ground while writing it or safekeeping it. After the seven days, if the wish has not yet been fulfilled, keep the square with you. If the wish has been fulfilled before the seven days period, DO COMPLETE the seven day ritual, but instead of praying for what you want, give thanks for receiving it.
          
After the fulfilment of the wish (and after the seven days) repeat the ritual and burn the piece of paper with the square, giving thanks for the manifestation of your wish.
          

TIP! Do not use this square to harm anybody or to force your will on others, for the results will be catastrophic to you.

Magic Squares for every purpose

 

Preparing and Charging the Second square, the Magic Square to Banish Evil Influence and Obstacles.
 
The second square is to uncross you, to unhex you and to remove all fears and obstacles being them real or imaginary. Although it can clean and protect you, and even send away evil spirits, if your condition is severe enough, it may not be enough by itself to do this.
          
Choose a specific hour of the day that you can repeat the ritual every day. You’ll need 10 days to complete the ritual, and you have to acquire all that you are going to need before starting.
          
You need incense made of ten different ingredients. Choose the ingredients according to your beliefs. The important thing is to be ten different ingredients. Make enough quantity of the mix to have for the whole ten days period. If you are using botanicals you will need more incense than if you are using resins. Prepare the incense for this specific purpose only. Don’t make too much to have in hand for future uses (but you can buy more of each ingredient to have for future use).
          
Again light an oil lamp and have this as the only light for writing the square. Make the square first, and then put the numbers in it from 1 to 9. On the other side of the paper write your name. Use Dragon’s Blood Ink, or any other ink you prefer. Write the square with a pen made of wood for this purpose and that is 15cm long. Both for this square as well as for the previous one don’t buy a pen. Make it yourself. And do not use a pen that you have made or used for other (even similar) reason.
          
While writing the square keep silence. After writing it, smoke it with the incense and smoke yourself as well. Then hold it inbetween your palms in a praying position and pray for the removing of all black magic, evil influences and fears. Then visualise yourself brilliant, free and happy.
          
Keep the oil lamp lighted for the whole 10 days if possible, and have the square next to the lamp. Do never let the square touch the ground. On the tenth day burn the square knowing that you are now free. During the ten days think only good for you and for everybody else. This is an important part of your cleansing.
           
If you prefer working on the floor, use a cloth or something to have your square on.

How to Ground your Energy

There are many times when we realize that we have too much work to do or maybe we have clearly lost ourselves in the million of deeds we are getting involved. Sometimes we just don’t get that our energy is limitless but as human beings we need to get some rest and find some balance between our responsibilities and our need to rest!

Especially if your work involves healing (doctors, nurses, acupuncturists, Reiki healers ~Rei Qi~, practitioners of alternative medicine etc.) you need to periodically ground yourself in order to avoid exhaustion and energy depletion.

When we practice magic, ANY MAGIC, either this involves uncrossing rituals, exorcism or even love magic, what we really do is that we channel this kind of energy we need within us and then focus it all to our purpose. This procedure however, no matter how much evolved we are in Witchcraft is rarely perfect. We almost always have remains of this energy we channeled and/or we have consumed some of our personal Life-force (Chi).  We should not neglect to ground our energy right after every spell we cast. We need to release the energy we captured and also recharge our Life-Force. 

As with spells, if you are a medical practitioner (as stated above) you have to understand that patients have lack of energy. And even though you may not understand it, if you interact with them you consciously or unconsciously transfer Vital Energy (Chi) to them! This is rarely a large amount of energy but even this little charge needs recharging! In this way you protect yourself and you can more effectively treat your patients!

Now that we have established this Rule of Grounding Energy let”s see how we are going to do that! 

The father of Western Medicine, Hippocrates, advised his students to ground their energy by hugging a big tree right after every medical practice. The trees are a vertical axis of continuous energy transfer. Hippocrates also advised them to wash their hands with running water. This is why water is a horizontal axis of continuous energy transfer. Both trees and water are good means of Vital Energy and can be used both for our purpose!

Find a quiet spot in the countryside. Clear your mind. And chant 3 times out loud:

I call upon the guardians of this Forest,  I call upon the forces of nature, help me find this tree I search for,  make me powerful once more!

Look patiently and you WILL see the tree you need. Get to it closer and touch it. Talk to it. Tell it your problems. Ask for it”s help. Either this is a young or and old tree this is what you need. 

Remove your shoes and socks. And just stand letting your back (spine) touch the bole of the tree. Let your spine”s weight so that the tree will bear it. Remove all the tension of your body.  

Tip

Each time you come remember always to bring something for the tree and the forces of the forest. Nature spirits love candy and sugar but always remember NEVER to leave trash! Food will be eaten by animals and is not considered trash!

Close your eyes. Visualize that you become one with the tree. Now ask for the forest”s powers. Ask it out loud. Ask it from your heart! Ask for the Tree”s wisdom. Ask for health. Ask for Vitality. Ask for protection. Ask anything you want. Now ask the tree to help you anytime you need it”s help just by visualizing you are there! Establish a relationship with this tree. Make this tree your friend. 

Now when you feel you are done take out a flask of water and irrigate the tree as a thank you! 

Visit your new friend every once in a while. Tell it your problems, tell it your news. Tell it how happy you are to see it again. This relationship will help you so much in your evolution in Witchcraft where your want to become a Shaman, Mage, Wizard, Witch, Druid or Priest of Nature! 

Each time you need to ground your energy, wash your hands with cool running water and then close your eyes and meditate on this tree you visited! Visualize that you are doing the same thing as you did when you actually where there! Remember that you have to pay a visit to your friend every once in a while!

A Healing spell for Imbolc – Candlemas

Imbolc, Candlemas, Anthesteria, different names for the same Sabbath. The 31st of January and 1st of February is a very important date for most religions and sacred to powerful Spirits (Gods / Goddesses if you prefer).

The force of Spring starts to get stronger day by day and this is also a day when Resurrection and Eternal Life is honored!

For the Druids, Brigid / Brighid is honored during Imbolc which actually means in gaelic / celtic language “in the belly / impregnated”. Something is about to be born, something is getting stronger day by day. This is our new life! 

We died in Yule, time stopped, and now it starts once more. The Circle of Life is eternal, is a never ending journey, as the Annual Circles of the Sun. We have to understand that. Whatever is born, dies in this world, but whatever dies is born again. 

For the Greeks this feast of Anthesteria is a celebration of Resurrection, a victory of life. God Dionysus is celebrated during this feast. During this day, Dionysus is the triple God, the personification of a Man’s major life-stations. The young boy, the husband, the sage. All three separate yet all three united. Remember that during Sabbaths are the day where the laws of nature are kinda altered. Time and space are not exactly the same. Realms mix up together. Portals are being created and powered. 

During Candlemas, the light is being reborn again. It’s a great opportunity to increase our flame of Life and Spirit. To empower that force of progress and spiritual evolution you can channel this cosmic energy in a candle which height is the same as yours! 

And now The Healing Spell! 

Supposing the any kind of Health issue (either Body or Mind) correspond in a depletion of our zest for life, of our flaming vital energy, all we have to do is replenish it! This spell is a way to channel more life-force in you with the help of your favourite spirit. The most appropriate Spirit/God-dess is Brigid and Dionysus. But it’s entirely up to you. 

Tip:You can do this spell any day you wish! During Imbolc is much more powerful though!

Take a White candle (which represents unity) in your hands (as tall as you are) and close your eyes. Meditate on your new self. Healthy, full of Vitality and Vigor. 

Devote this candle to a (fiery if possible) Spirit / God-dess / Angel and light it saying:

Here lies myself, My life and spirit shines brightly as this flame does! I devote this flame to you (name of the Spirit/God-dess), May you always be here for me and look after me and my soul!

Now close your eyes and visualize yourself healthy in body and spirit, watch yourself doing everything you do daily but with more vigor and euphoria. Pay attention to the details. See how it is to be healthy and powerful again. See how you would do everything. 

Let the candle be extinguished. Always take anti-fiery measures. Fire is not a game.

Tip

Depending on what spirit you chose to devote this candle to, you can burn the corresponding herb. If you choose for example Brigid (who is maybe the most appropriate for this day) you can devote some Rowan to her.

How to Make an Amulet for Protection

Our dear readers I am happy to share with you the recipe and spell to create a protective charm/amulet. This amulet is meant to give you overall protection against physical and spiritual harm. As you will find out it is based on Voodoo/Hoodoo, however this post is not intended to discuss in depth the philosophy behind mojo bags. This will happen in a future post.

The creation of this amulet is based on the element of Earth which is happy to provide the most protective/durable qualities to the witch. For this amulet you will need:

Ingredients • A small cotton bag (preferably black,white or red) • One small stone • A pen-marker • Sandalwood oil • A whole walnut • Blackberry bark • Powdered egg shell • 4 white candles • A bag of salt

Now on a Sunday or Tuesday night when the moon is waxing (getting fuller) is time to cast your protective amulet. First take the stone and feel it in your hands. Feel its firmness, its connection with earth, its protective qualities. Take the marker and draw a protective symbol on it. Some suggestions are the pentacle, the triquetra, the Eye of Horus, the Ankh or Thor’s hammer. However, feel free to draw a symbol that you like and you feel it protects you from harm. Contemplate for as long as you like, thinking about how protecting this symbol is for you. Feel it forming a shield around you which is impenetrable and protects you from all harm. When ready dress the stone with 3 drops of sandalwood oil and say:

Hard as stone my shield I cast and it shall never fail me.

Then put the inscribed stone in the bag. Next take the whole walnut. Feel its natural energies of protection, feel the hard exterior, feel its magical protection. Contemplate on it forming a shield surrounding you. When ready say:

My walnut protects I feel no threats.

Then take the blackberry bark and hold it in your hands. Imagine the actual bush of the plant surrounding you.  Nothing can invade in its space. When ready add the bark to the bag saying:

My space is protected, blackberry aids me.  

Then take the egg shell powder and feel it in your hands. Feel its firmness, its power. Feel how it protects the interior of the egg. Then imagine your shield becoming even stronger. When you are ready add it in the bag and say:

My barrier is whole, egg shell make it last long.

Then add the powder in the bag. Close it with 3 knots and say:

Then put the 4 candles in a circular order. One candle in the East, one candle in the south etc. Place the bag at the center of the circle that the candles form. Around the candles make a circle with the salt. Try to use as much salt as possible to make a fine thick circle.

Light the candles and say:

I walk in circles of light!

Let the candles burn to the end, and place the remaining salt in another bag. Bury the remains of the candles. If in need, repeat the ritual to grant extra protection. A good tip is to use the salt that you have used in the first ritual. If this is not available or you find that the salt is not enough then add or use new salt.

Carry the protective bag with you, put it in your handbag, your pocket or attach it to your clothes. It will allegedly protect you from all harm, however, this amulet will not protect you from threats or dangers that you have imposed to yourself and are consequences of your own actions, for example casting a dark spell against someone or harming someone. In addition, if you are casting this spell to grant protection to someone else put a lock of their hair in the mojo bag. Remember for the spell to manifest the third person must have cut their own hair and given it to you freely.

Phase 2 – Finding the beauty you have
 
Now, the second step in achieving your goal is to find and appreciate the parts of your goal you already have. In this case, to find and appreciate how beautiful you already are. The second phase of the spell starts the night after the Third Quarter and goes on until the New Moon.
 
Prepare the room as during the first phase, but put the white candle in the place of the black (the black should have finished burning, if not then let it burn to its end, but put the philtre next to the white candle). And also have a mirror inside the beauty circle.
 
Shower and scrub yourself as you did the first day of the first phase. Then go into the room. Start the procedure as you did all the previous days.
 
Then light the white candle saying:
“I light this candle to clear off any remaining ugliness and help me see my beauty”.
 
Then say three times:
“The foul marks and ugliness, I now drive out, but everything that is good on me forever shall remain. The Sun, the Moon, and all the Stars my uncouthness, from my feet and my hands and my entire body, do now drive out, for I was born to be happy in each and every way. The fierceness in myself, in my body or my face, I now strike away with my spell. May (the name of your helper) beautify me in the most perfect way.”
 
(It’s the same incantation, but you say it three times)

Now close your eyes and relax and let your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars beautify you. Don’t force the change, just allow them to do what they believe is the best for you, and just feel them acting on you. When you feel they have completed whatever they wanted to do for today, open your eyes.
 
Remember to keep the incense burning during the whole procedure. Now look yourself in the mirror and find every beautiful characteristic in your face and body. Take as much time as you need doing this. Be happy and thankful for your beauty.
 
Then continue looking at the collection of pictures in your box as you did during the first phase. The time you should offer to the mirror and the pictures should be at least one hour or even more if you feel more like it.
 
Then put the pictures and the prayer back to their box, thank your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars and extinguish the beauty candles, and continue as you did all the previous days. Remember to let the white candle burning and keep the philtre always next to the white candle.
 
During the second phase scrub yourself at least once more. The days you don’t scrub, use the philtre.
 
Phase 3 – The growing beauty
 
You have already dedicated about 14-15 days in the procedure so you have already achieved some changes. It is now time to realise your growing beauty and empower the changes. This phase starts the night after the New Moon and ends in the night of the First Quarter.
 
Prepare the room as usual, but instead of the white candle put the rose (or whatever you have chosen) candle. The philtre should be next to the rose candle.
 
Shower, scrub, and start the procedure as you are, by now, accustomed to and then light the rose candle saying:
“I light this candle to help my growing beauty, grow even more!”
 
Then say seven times:
“The Sun, the Moon and all the Stars have beautified my body and face, and for this I am thankful. So please continue your good job and let my beauty grow and shine even more. I was born to be happy in each and every way, and now with my growing beauty I am achieving this goal of mine. Oh (name of the helper) thank you for your precious help and all of your blessings. Oh, yes, make me even more beautiful in the most perfect way”.
 
Now close your eyes and relax and let your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars beautify you. Don’t force the change, just allow them to do what they believe is the best for you, and just feel them acting on you. When you feel they have completed whatever they wanted to do for today, open your eyes.
 
Remember to keep the incense burning during the whole procedure. Now look yourself in the mirror and notice all the beneficial changes that have happened in your looks. It doesn’t matter how small or great they are. Be happy and thankful for them and, if you are so, they will grow to perfection.
 
Then continue with looking to the pictures of your box as you did during the previous phases. The time you should offer to the mirror and the pictures should be at least one hour and as much more as you feel nice.
 
Then put the pictures and the prayer back to their box, thank your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars and extinguish the beauty candles, and continue as you did all the previous days. Remember to let the rose candle burning and keep the philtre always next to the rose candle.
 
During the third phase scrub yourself at least once more. The days you don’t scrub, use the philtre.
 
Phase 4 – Finishing touches
 
The last phase in achieving any goal is feeling and realising that you have already achieved it. And in a plane you indeed have achieved it. By accepting that and realising that, you allow the goal to manifest – if it hasn’t already done so – in the material plane. So, it is time to realise that you have become the beautiful, shining, youthful person you wanted to become. This phase starts the night after the Third Quarter and ends in the night of the Full Moon.
 

Prepare the room as usual, but instead of the rose candle put the golden one. The philtre should be next to the golden candle. You won’t need the mirror for this phase.

Now close your eyes and relax and let your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars beautify you. When you feel they have completed whatever they wanted to do for today, open your eyes. Remember to keep the incense burning during the whole procedure.
 
Now look at the pictures of the box as you did all the previous days, and also realise how much closer you already are to the beauty you are seeing in these pictures, and know with all yourself that you are being even closer day by day.
 
Now close your eyes and visualise yourself being this perfectly beautiful person in your eyes and in the eyes of everybody. Feel truly happy and thankful for your success and know that it has happened. Not that it will happen, but that it has already happened.
 
The picture staring and the visualisation should last at least an hour long and even more if you prefer.
 
Then put the pictures and the prayer back to their box, thank your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars and extinguish the beauty candles, and continue as you did all the previous days. Remember to let the golden candle burning and keep the philtre always next to the golden candle.
 
During the fourth phase scrub yourself at least once more. The days you don’t scrub, use the philtre. At the night of the Full Moon, let all the candles safely burn out by themselves. After that day, if you have any more scrub, use it any day you want, and also use the remaining of the philtre daily (unless you have scrubbed) until it finishes, and say the incantation of the fourth phase while you are doing so. Once or twice a week offer some time looking at the pictures of your box, reading your prayer and giving thanks to those that helped you achieve your goal. The power of the spell will continue acting on you for really long time, so, if you want to even more develop your beauty, repeat the spell after at least six months. But if you want you can make some more of this scrub to use it anytime.
 
Remember that the true purpose behind becoming more beautiful is becoming happier. If you don’t perform this spell bearing this in your mind, but let’s hypothesise, to be more appealing to another person, then don’t do it at all, as it will have minimal or no results.

The Ultimate Beauty Spell 

 
Do you want to become even more gorgeous than you already are? Do you want this so much that you are ready to offer a full Lunar Circle to this objective? If so, this is a spell for you.
 
Phase 0 – Preparation
 
Find out in your local calendar when the next Full Moon night is. If it is in a few days, then find out the next one, as you will need some time to get yourself prepared for the spell.
 
Buy a box, folder or whatever you find more suitable for you. Don’t rush this. Find something that you feel it is suitable for both you and the spell. Then start collecting pictures and photos of people that you find beautiful. Not people that look as you would like your partner to look like, but people that look like the way you want to look. If you just like a single characteristic of them, cut only this from the picture. However, it is recommended to have as many full pictures as possible.
 
If you are good with picture modification, change any picture of others or even yourself to have the characteristics you want. Put these pictures into the box/folder/whatever.
 
Also, to help your magic help you more, start eating and acting in a way that will help you to achieve your goals. If for example you want to be thinner start eating less and healthier, and start performing some aerobic exercises, if you want to be more muscular start working out and so on. Try to keep this plan for as long as the spell lasts.
 
Also buy four candles that represent your achieved beauty, being them red (more suitable for sexiness and strength), pink (more suitable for sweet and kind characteristics and feminine beauty), or orange (more suitable for attractiveness and youthfulness). You may also mix them. For example if you want to look younger, sweeter and sexier you may use 2 orange candles, 1 pink and 1 red. These candles should be capable for burning for at least 60 hours. Carve to each candle the characteristics it represents.

Also buy one black, one white, one pink (or red or orange) and one golden candle that each can burn for seven days. Also you will need some incense that you really like the smell and it makes you feel good. You can use botanicals, resins, sticks or whatever kind of incense you want. Just make sure you have enough supplies for 30 days (well, it depends on the Moon circle).
 
Buy about 1kg of salt (you may use sea salt but I prefer the cooking salt as it is more gentle), about 0.3lt (1½ cups) of extra virgin olive oil and 30-45ml of each of the following essential oils: red rose (not rose absolute), lily, and lemon flowers. DON’T use lemon essential oil. You may use lavender instead of lemon flower if you have sensitivity in lemon flower, but if you can use the original do so, as it is much better both for the spell and for the skin. If you know you have an allergy to any of these oils DON’T use them. Send us an e-mail to provide you with some alternatives.
 
Finally you will need a nice piece of paper (A4) and Dragon’s Blood Ink or Dove’s Blood Ink.
 
The Sunday before the Full Moon (so if the Full Moon occurs on Sunday then do it during the previous Sunday), in a bottle big enough mix the essential oils as follows:
 
Pour the rose oil saying:
“Here is my beauty…”
Pour the lily oil saying:
“… my everlasting youth…”
Pour the lemon flower oil saying:
“… and my glare, just like the Sun’s.”
 
Close the bottle and shake it well but gently, so that the oils will mix nicely. If you have bought good quality essential oils you will have no problem mixing them.
 
Now put the salt in a porringer and pour the olive oil on it and using a (wooden) spoon mix thoroughly. If necessary add some more olive oil. You should have a rather soft mix, so that you may use it to every part of your body, so it’s better to be softer than intended than harder. Then put 15-30 ml of the mix. Although extra virgin olive oil is a very protective base oil, your skin may be extra sensitive, so, if you need, put even less of the mix. Using the spoon, once again mix the scrub thoroughly. Then bottle the scrub in a glass jar with a wide top.
 
Finally, in a small dish, like a tea cup’s plate, put some clear water and add 3 drops of the mix of the essential oils (I’ll be referring to it as philtre from now on). If possible put also one or two drops of May Dew. Using a small piece of cotton, water the paper. Then let it dry completely before putting it aside. The rest of the philtre (that is 15ml) is to be used directly on your skin so, if you have a sensitive skin, or you don’t know if you do, fill the bottle with a base oil like sweet almond or jojoba oil. If you do so, instead of 15 ml of philtre you’ll be having 50 (or more according to your sensitivity) ml of a softer philtre, so change the quantities used accordingly (1 drop of 15ml pure philtre is about equal to 3 drops of a 50ml softened philtre or 7 drops of a 100ml softened philtre)
 
 
Phase 1 – The beginning
 
The spell has four phases that each of them lasts for about a week depending on the phases of the moon. The first phase will start removing any unwanted characteristics of yours. Recognising that you have an unwanted situation and asking from the Gods / Angels / Spirits to remove it is always the first step. And to be honest, if you truly believe there is nothing wrong with your appearance you wouldn’t do this spell. So the first phase of the spell starts the night that follows the Full Moon and ends at the night of the Third Quarter of the Moon.
 
On the first night AFTER the Full Moon shower yourself and then use the scrub. If you have made it gentle and soft enough and you have no allergies to the ingredients you can safely use it on every part of your face and body, but don’t use it on your hair and take care not to touch your eyes.
 
After scrubbing, remove the salt with water but don’t use any soap. Then gently dry yourself with a towel or, if possible, air dry. Don’t remove the oil, but let it be absorbed by your skin.
 
Then go wherever you are going to perform the spell. Since it is better to perform the spell without clothes and in the same place every day and even better on the same time, chose the room wisely.
 
The room should be ready after you shower, therefore, make sure you have made all necessary preparations before you shower. So, use the four candles that represents your achieved beauty (the ones that can burn for 60 hours) and form a circle, putting the candles on the middle points of the compass. That is, NE, SE, SW and NW. If you intend to cast a circle, put this beauty circle inside your magical circle.
 
In the centre of the circle put a pillow or something for you to sit and have the black candle and the incense in front of you. Also have the box with the pictures inside the circle, and the bottle with the philtre. Also have the piece of paper you have prepared and the ink and a pen or something alike to write with. If you want, have a picture or a statue of the Angel/God/Goddess/Spirit you are going to call upon his or her help. Finally, of course, have some matches to light the candles and the incense.
 
[Some ideas about the “helper”. He or she can be your Guardian Angel, Archangel Raphael, Archangel Michael, Goddess Aphrodite (Venus), God Apollo, God Eros, Goddess Laksmi, God Soma, God Sukra, Goddess Isis, Goddess Freya, or any other you prefer. Choose according to whom you feel more familiar with and who is the most proper for the kind of beauty you desire.]
 
Now, cast the circle if you want, then light the four candles of your beauty starting with the one facing NE. Sit on your pillow facing East and light some incense. Relax or perform the balancing breathing exercise. Now take the pen and write on the paper a prayer to your helper asking to help you achieve the desired and the best beauty for you. It doesn’t need to have a formal or “proper” form. It needs to express yourself, your thoughts and your soul. Just end the prayer with the phrase “Thank you for your help that I already have started receiving”. After that read the prayer loud three times.
 
Now, (put some more incense if needed and) light the black candle saying:
“I light this candle to burn and vanquish each and every ugly and unwanted characteristic
 from my face and body”.
 
Now say seven times:
 
“The foul marks and ugliness, I now drive out, but everything that is good on me forever shall remain. The Sun, the Moon, and all the Stars my uncouthness, from my feet and my hands and my entire body, do now drive out, for I was born to be happy in each and every way. The fierceness in myself, in my body or my face, I now strike away with my spell. May (the name of your helper) beautify me in the most perfect way.”
 
Now close your eyes and relax and let your helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars start beautifying you. Don’t force the change, just allow them to do what they believe is the best for you, and just feel them acting on you. When you feel they have completed whatever they wanted to do for today, open your eyes.
 
If needed light some more incense. The incense should be burning all the time. Open the box, and relaxingly and slowly browse the pictures you have gathered. This is a very important part, so give it time. Just look every picture for a few minutes, admiring the beauty you are seeing and imagining you possessing this beauty. You don’t need to overdo with each picture. You’ll be doing it every day so just let your inner self choose to which pictures should focus more each day, but spent some time with each one. The whole procedure from lighting the beauty candles till the end of staring the pictures should be at least an hour long, and as much more as you feel nice doing it.
 
When you have finished, put the pictures back to the box, and also put the prayer in it. Thank the helper, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars and extinguish the beauty candles. Not the black candle. You will let this candle burning for the rest of the first phase. Release the circle. Put the black candle somewhere safe to avoid a fire and the bottle with the philtre next to it.
 
Each day for the rest of the first phase (till the night of the Third Quarter of the Moon) you will repeat the same procedure, but you won’t write the prayer again, but just reading it, and you will not need to scrub yourself every day, but do it at least two more times. The bottle with the philtre should always remain near the candle, inside and outside the circle, and every day when you start the procedure put three to seven drops of the (pure) philtre (or the equivalent of a softer philtre) on your body. (The days you do the scrub you don’t need to put on the philtre.)

A Success Spell for the Winter Solstice

As we previously said Yule is not only a perfect time for removing everything that holds us back, but also a great opportunity to sow the seeds for everything we want to achieve during the new year. So here is a spell that will help you succeed in anything you want.

On a piece of paper write down everything you want to achieve in the starting year. Don’t judge your wishes. Don’t think what you should ask for, just what you really want.

When you feel like you have written everything down, read again the list. Do it as many times as you need and narrow down your wishes to a maximum of eight. Now, this can be done either by removing the less important – for you – and keeping the most important, or by grouping your wishes under the one that you believe it “contains” the others. If for example you want to buy new clothes, a new house and a car, you can sum up the costs and ask for that amount of money, therefore having one wish instead of three.

If you are happy by narrowing down your wishes to less than eight, this is – according to my experience – even better. Think it as such. If you can rise an amount of energy that I should name A, then you are going to use A/8 of your energy for each of the eight wishes, so if you have instead three wishes then you have the choice either to use A/3 for each wish, or to decide to give double energy to one wish (that would be 2A/8) and triple energy to two of them (that would be 3A/8), by using again the method that we will see in a while for the eight wishes. It is much simpler than it looks, and I am going to explain it clearly.

Now, you will need:

* 8 square pieces of paper (if you can make them having the size of your birth number it will be perfect), to write each wish. * Dragon’s Blood ink and a pen to write the wishes with. * 8 orange candles * An attraction or success oil to anoint the candles with (Crown of Success will be brilliant, but even  Sunflower cooking oil will do; add some cinnamon in it for better results). * And some incense that can be the Phoenix Blend, or Crown of Success, or Cinnamon, Frankincense and Myrrh, or whatever you trust the most. * You also need a symbol of each wish * A wooden box * And a satin red string or ribbon (you will need to cut 8 pieces equal to your height).

During Yule’s night (and during the celebration ritual, if you perform one) using the Dragon’s Blood ink write one wish to each piece of paper and arrange them in a circle around you.

Now, if you have less than eight wishes and want to share the energy equally, then use as many pieces of paper as your wishes. Write one wish to each of them and of course so many orange candles. But if you want to put emphasis on some wishes more than the others, then use 8 pieces of paper and 8 candles and repeat the same wish as many times as you want (in the previous example I would have written one wish on two pieces of paper and two wishes on three pieces of paper). If you do that, then we recommend that the symbol for the same wishes should remain the same (if for example you want wealth and you have used a picture of $100 bill, then have as many pictures of $100 bill as many times you have written the wish). Also arrange, if possible, the same wishes in a different order and avoid having them one after the other.

Now put the symbols on top of the papers. Inscribe each wish to each candle, anoint it with the oil (from the middle to its top towards you and then from its middle to its bottom towards you again), and put it behind the piece of paper.

Now, light the incense saying:

“I offer this incense to (name the God/Angel/Spirit of your choice and trust or just say the Universal Powers of Time) to please.  So, please come here (the same) and hear my plea and bless me with great success to what I want to achieve.”

Now start lighting the candles around you starting from the one facing North and continue NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW. While lighting each candle say:

“I light this candle to bring to me (and state the wish the candle represents)”.

After lighting all the candles sit down facing the Northern candle. Visualise for about 5 minutes yourself enjoying the fulfilled wish and then continue to the next wish until you have completed the circle. If you have written the same wish to more than one pieces of paper repeat the procedure for each candle.

After finishing the visualisations sit down peacefully or even lie down, if you have made the circle wide enough. When you feel that the energy has settled itself, then thank the God/Angel/Spirit that you summoned and leave the circle, or continue your ritual. Let the candles burn themselves completely taking every safety precaution to avoid fire.

When all candles have burned out go back to your circle and using the pieces of the red ribbon wrap up each piece of paper with the symbol and finish the wrapping with a knot. Then put the “charms” inside the wooden box and have the box under your bed until the next Winter Solstice.

Winter Solstice Magic: A Yule Purification Spell

Maybe the most powerful period of the year is approaching; the period between the moment Sun astrologically enters the sign of Capricorn and the moment that Sun astronomically enters the sign of Capricorn. The Winter Solstice, also known as Yule. It’s time for Purification. 

Yule Purification Spell

The first is going to happen on the 21st of December and this is the Winter Solstice, Midwinter or Yule, the magical New Year’s Day.The second will occur on the 14th of January, and this is considered to be the New Year’s Day in the divine plane. India celebrates this as Makar Sankranti.

Also, in almost the middle of this period is January the first, the almost worldwide celebrated New Year, and after this period, the Chinese New Year is coming on 10th of February. (The Hindi New Year on 11th of April has more to do with the Spring Equinox, as it happens when Sun, astronomically enters the sign of Aries) The Yule celebration help us get rid of anything that we don’t need any more and holds us back as well as to sow the seeds of whatever we want to receive and achieve in the new year. And these are the energies of both days and time in between.

The Yule

The Sun (for the Northern Hemisphere) enters his most dark place, and symbolically dies with the old year and rises anew with the New Year. Actually on the lands of the Northern Polar Circle, the Sun will set on the 20th of December to rise anew on the 22nd of December. The Sun will come out of the Darkness and start to grow His Divine Light, calling us to abandon the Darkness within us and embrace the Light gaining hope from the coming Summer.

Therefore Yule is a great time to purify ourselves, to get rid of our darkness and everything spiritual or material that holds us back and start our new, better and more brilliant lives and our path in achieving our goals.

So here is a simple spell calling upon the Sun to help us purify ourselves and homes. Perform this spell on Yule’s Eve (or New Year’s Eve, or on the 13th of January).

The Purification Spell

At about Sun-setting hour light a tea-light candle, or an oil lamp, or a butter lamp in each room of your home, including the bathrooms. On lighting each candle/lamp say:

“I call upon the setting Sun to set his sight here,  and as he leaves this time and place may He takes every impurity from here”.

Now, keep in mind that at this evening the Sun sets leaving this place and this time for a new time will be born on the rise of the New Year.

After lighting the candles/lamps in every room go to your bedroom sit comfortably on your bed. Don’t lie in it, just sit on it. Perform the balancing breathing exercise. Then light a candle/lamp in your solar plexus. That means imagine a candle/lamp inside your body in the area of your solar plexus. Do not literally light a candle on your body. Then say mentally:

“I call upon the setting Sun to set his sight in me,  and as he leaves this place and time may He take every impurity from me and purify me”.

Now feel the Sun’s power removing any and every impurity from inside you, and purifying you. Give some time to this procedure and do not rush it. When you feel is done, open your eyes and if possible face the Sun (if this is not possible face West and mentally see the setting Sun) and say:

 “Thank you and Goodbye!”

Yemaya (Yemoja, Iemanja, Yemana) is known as Mother of the Sea. She is the lady of Rain, the Creator Mother. She is one of the Seven African Powers, the well-respected Gods of the Yoruban pantheon. Her name (Yey Omo Eja) means “Mother whose Children are the Fish”. This blatantly expresses her direct association with the sea. She is often depicted as a mermaid or a black woman at the seaside. Wearing a blue-green and white dress, Yemaya is associated with the ocean, saltwater, rain. Also with healing fertility, the Moon, the subconscious, creativity and female mysteries such as menstruation, conception, pregnancy, childbirth and menopause. Yemaya governs the household and she grants protection, safety, love and healing to all those who ask her aid. Yemaya is a merciful, compassionate spirit who traditionally was invoked by fishermen to bless their nets and provide food to their family. In addition, the fishermen’s wives often prayed to Yemaya. The wives pleaded for protection and return their husbands safely back home. Finally, Yemaya is the patroness of all Witches and two of her sacred names are Queen of Witches and Mama Watta (Mother of the Waters) which explain why many of her followers built their altars next to the Ocean.
 
In the Yoruban pantheon, Yemaya was embraced by Christianity and was often called the Star of the Sea which was a name for Virgin Mary. According to legends, Yemaya is highly associated with the Goddess Isis and it is said that she originated from Egypt. After the end of slavery, many of the ex-slaves who returned to different parts of Africa after escaping Egypt brought Isis with them under the new name of Yemaya. This may be one of the reasons that Yemaya is associated with the element of Water, Magic, Healing and Motherhood. According to the legend, when her uterine broke, the water caused a great flood in the Earth that created the Ocean. Ath the same time, the first Man and Woman were her children.   
 
Yemaya is a deity that chooses her followers. She often comes to them in a vision, dream or concept. This clarifies the Union between the Goddess and the Student. Yemaya’s feast days are traditionally the 7th of September and the 2nd of February. These dates are also associated with her daughter Oya. Saturday is her sacred day of the week. Offerings to Yemaya often were pidgeons, seashells, mother of pearl, fruits and flowers. The offerings were released next to the Ocean, the Home of Yemaya. Please be aware that the offerings to Yemaya can never be fish, as they are her children. However, her followers are allowed to eat fish as the Mother nourishes her children and she embraces balance in Nature. Now, if the followers choose not to eat fish out of respect that is another story as it has to do with the bond formed between each follower and the Goddess.
 
Followers of Yemaya wear ornaments of seashells, moonstones, pearls and mother of pearl. Yemaya’s sacred colours are blue and green. These signify the Sea and White as it signifies the Moon and the Foam of the Sea. Followers of Yemaya often cast their rituals and spells near the Sea. This is where the Goddess resides.

A spell to Bring back the Divine Light in our Lives

Diwali is a very potent day to bring the Divine Solar Light into your life and keep it for the upcoming dark winter nights, as the days grow shorter for the North Hemisphere at least. But even if you live in the South Hemisphere why not getting some more Light, right?

Although it is practically a celebration of Light and the Sun, the most of the action is made during night time.

If you are not Hindu, or maybe you are but you are unfamiliar with the official celebrations, or you just cannot perform those, here is a simple spell to help you bring the Divine Light in to your life.

Cast a magic circle on the floor using eight tea candles. Make it big enough for you to sit in it comfortably. Light some incense of your choice that you consider it solar. Myrrh, Cinnamon and Spikenard, the Phoenix Incense of Rosarium Blends,  would be a great choice.

Now, sit in the middle of the circle and close your eyes. Perform the Balancing Breathing. In the same time, feel the light and the warmth of the candles coming into you, and becoming one with you.

When you are ready and shining, start chanting a Solar, Fiery, or Enlightening mantra of your choice. I would suggest that whatever mantra you wish to chant start by chanting the simple seed mantra:

 “Ram” 

It’s just this word. Chant it for 108 times at first. The other mantra, the one of your choice, can be either a Rama mantra, a Surya Mantra like “Om (Hrum) Suryaya namah”, an Agni Mantra, a Mangal Mantra, the Gayatri Mantra or something you can make yourself, like the following.

“I am Light” 

or 

“I am Divine” 

Everything will work, if you focus on the, and feel the, meaning deep inside you.

For the second mantra, I would once again suggest to repeat it for 108 times. But, if you consider another number of repetitions to be better, do as you believe.

After finishing chanting the second mantra, keep your eyes closed and just relax. Keep breathing slowly, deeply and comfortably. Let the energy you have raised to take its place. When the energy is settled, then keep your eyes closed for a little longer. Use this time to think of as many good things, or “things”, you have in your life. Not the bad ones. Only the good ones. Give thanks to the Gods for each one of them.

Now say

“I now know I was blessed, I am blessed and always I am blessed forever”.

Learn this phrase in advance, so that you will easily state it without opening your eyes, or thinking about it. Repeat the phrase as many times as you need to feel the meaning of it with all your body. Then slowly, open your eyes.

Let the candles burn out by themselves and if possible, keep the incense burning for all that time or at least as much as you can.

The Butterfly ink is a magical ink whose main ingredient is Saffron. Although we will give you a detailed Herb Analysis on Saffron we would like to give you some hints about this beautiful flower to know what you are doing.  Saffron or Crocus is a herb so anciently sacred that you will find it in so many references, in so many civilizations and religions. Crocus was a friend or maybe a lover to God Hermes (latin Mercury). They were playing when Hermes accidently killed Crocus. The God was so devastated by the loss of his beloved Crocus, he created this wonderful flower and he dripped 3 blood-drops of Crocus coloring the center of the flower and the threads / strands. From this day Crocus-Saffron was the sacred herb of Hermes! Saffron is not sacred only in ancient Greece but also to India! Saffron was sacred to the Gods and as you can find it in the ancient recipe for Amrita, the food of the Gods, the Hindu equivalent of Ambrosia!

Saffron is a herb associated to Sun (primarily) and Mercury as planets and to Air (primarily) and Fire as elements. Thus Saffron is a Masculine and Projective herb. This you might have already known, but i'm pretty sure that you will be surprised when you'll read in the following lines that not only Saffron is sacred in Islam, the Butterfly ink is widely used by Muslims to  contact Allah (God)! So what is Butterfly ink? 

Butterfly ink a really powerful tool every urban Witch, every rural Shaman, every secluded Alchemist, every natural born Mage should know and practice! If Rosewater is the Magical Ink for wishes and corrseponds to the Element of Water, if Dragon's Blood ink is the Magical Ink used for most spells and corresponds to the Element of Fire, the Butterfly Ink is the Magical Ink for prayers, invocations and Talisman craftsmanship and corresponds to Element of the Air!

How can you make a real Butterfly ink? You will need the following ingredients:

* 1 part of Saffron threads/strands * 3 parts of Arabic Gum * 12 parts of clear alcohol

Preparation:

* Turn the arabic gum to dust.  * Put the Saffron threads on a thermostable vessel. * Boil the alcohol and then pour it over the saffron! Look the golden-yellowish color of the threads filling the alcohol. Now chant: 

Crocus of Hermes, Royal Herb of Magic,  Enchant this ink with Might, Blessings and Light!

* Stir clockwise and add slowly the arabic gum and keep on stirring!  * Once you are done put the mixture in the refrigerator for 3 hours! It's ready to use!

Knot magic rules! Tying a knot is probably a very common and dull action we can all imagine. But let’s all remember what magic really is! Magic is our focused, projected desire to the Universe, consciously using symbolic or even plain actions.

What is Knot Magic?

Knots are essential to magic as a stethoscope is essential to medical doctors. Sure they use other instruments too but what would they do without a stethoscope? The art of binding Knots to cast a spell is known to be practiced since ancient Mesopotamia. We have proof of casting knot magic in ancient Babylon.

History of Knot Magic

Mesopotamia is one of the most ancient civilizations we know to have existed. What predates the wisdom of Mesopotamia is clearly unknown to us. Some could say Atlantis but this is not yet a scientific fact although much effort has been made by Archeologists from all over the World to prove the existence of this Legendary Civilization.   The art of Knot Magic could be an imitation of what the Moirae (and Norns) do. As we saw in depth in a previous article the Triple Goddesses of Fate are constantly weaving the Destinies of Humans and others!

The art of weaving can be seen as the symbolic action of dealing with the endless possibilities giving a certain form to what was previously just a cord, thus deciding which will be the fate who mates with each one of us. By practicing Knot-Magic we try to add or maybe alter what the Fates have already decided for us. Modern Practitioners regard the Moirae/Norns/Fates as the personification of the Karma rules and powers. In this case Fate has not been decided yet and every Magical Action can influence Karma as it is a conscious decision to change Reality.

Moirae (and Norns) while also the Goddess Athena (Minerva in Latin – the greatest Weaver of all) are Patrons of Knot Magic. The Totem Archetype animals which can be invoked to guide us through knot magic is the Owl and the Spider.   • Take a cord/ribbon/thread of any color you want (according to what you wish for)
  • Keep it in your hands.
  • Close your eyes and relax.
  • Do the Hatha Yoga Relaxing technique. Meditate. Clear your mind.  
  • Focus on your desire. Focus on it like you already are (for example Rich, or Successful etc.).
  • Now tie a knot! The spell is done!
  • Finally, keep your knot in a sacred spot or on your altar where no one can find it!

During the night of Halloween not only the veil between the realm of the Livings and the realm ruled by Thanatos (Θάνατος, the God of Death) vanishes – or almost – but as well the veil between the realm of the Livings and the realm ruled by Oniros (Όνειρος, the God of Dreams, the triplet brother of Thanatos) vanishes.

Therefore Halloween is a very potent night for dream spells, and not just to see a prophetic dream, but also to become prepared to start seeing such dreams.

Keep in mind that Oniros is not kind to those who wish to do any bad. Not only He doesn’t help them by giving them prophetic dreams but He also sees that they will not have a good end of life. So make sure your purposes are pure before going on with this spell, or ritual. 

Summoning god Oniros in Halloween

During the night of Halloween cast a magic circle, or you may use the circle casted for your Halloween celebrations. Have prepared some incense of dried and powdered mugwort and elder flowers in a two to one ratio. Mix the powders with some lemon or rose oil (approximately 3 drops for every teaspoon of powder). You will need about 3-4 teaspoons for the spell, but make more so that you can keep it for later on.

Do not use this mix if you are pregnant. Stop immediately and air the room if you feel any discomfort. Mugwort is a powerful but also dangerous herb. Use lavender as a safe substitute.

Light a blue candle and add two teaspoons of the mix on a charcoal disk. Then close your eyes. Perform the balancing breathing exercise. Then call upon God Oniros. Use the Orphic hymn, if you can, first and then say:

 “I call upon God Oniros, the God of Dreams, the brother of Thanatos and Hypnos.  Come here oh mighty God, and guide me to your realm”. 

Keep your eyes closed and keep breathing relaxed while repeating the incantation.

How God Oniros appears 

An extremely handsome young man will appear in front of you in an environment He will choose (in your mind’s world). He will most probably ask you to follow him, or in some cases he may give you something.

If he asks you to follow him do so. He will take you to a gate or something alike where there would be many symbols. He will point one to you. If he has given you something this will be the symbol. Memorize this symbol, and draw it as soon as you end the procedure. This symbol is going to help you there on to have the prophetic dreams you want.

Thank god Oniros

Thank Him for His assistance and ask Him to bless the rest of the incense so that it will help you achieve the best results. When He will finish blessing the incense thank him once again and finish your meditation.

Draw the symbol, make a talisman of it and have it in hand. Bottle the rest of the incense in a glass jar, so that you can use it in the future. Let the blue candle burn out by itself.

When you want to see a prophetic dream, burn some of the blessed incense in your bedroom. While doing so, hold the symbol in front of you and concentrate your sight to it, asking it to give you through a dream the answerer to your question (state it). Go to sleep having the symbol on your body. Write down the dream as soon as you are awake. Create a Dream Book as we said in previous posts!

Dark Secrets: the Hand of Glory

What would be Halloween without some dark story? So, let’s see a few things for one of the most well-known forms of Black Magic, the infamous Hand of Glory.

Even if I were to give you the way to create this hideous object, you would most probably have no luck in finding the right human to make it from. Nevertheless, I prefer not to present to you the exact recipe, nor the energizing incantation. For the Hand of Glory is, indeed, evil magic, made for evil purposes.

What is the Hand of Glory?

The Hand of Glory is actually made from a human hand. The left hand of a thief that has been hanged for his or her crimes. Thus, the practise of this technique is more common to places where the law requires the hanging of the thieves. To make it even more impossible, in some lores the thief must remain on the gallows for three days. According to this tradition, the hand is most powerful if it is cut during the third night from the thief’s death.

After cutting the hand off, it is prepared as a candle, using the fat and the hair of the hanged human. Then, it should be energised by the use of an incantation. As I have already said, neither the exact way of preparing the Hand, nor the incantation will be given here.

The Supernatural abilities of the Hand of Glory:

The purpose of the Hand of Glory, despite its name, is not achieving glory. Instead, it is for helping other thieves to do their job without a problem.

According to the lore, when the Hand of Glory is ignited in a house, all who are already asleep cannot wake up, no matter what, until the hand is removed from the house. In the same time, all who are awake – the thieves, for example – cannot fall asleep.

If the Hand of Glory is well prepared, the actual Hand remains almost untouched by the fire. So, it can be used again and again.

Tradition says, that neither wind, nor water can extinguish the fire of the Hand of Glory. Even more, only the one who lighted it can extinguish the flames. Although, there are some stories saying that milk can extinguish the flames of the Hand and undo its sleeping spell.

Scientifically-wise, there is no reason milk can achieve what water cannot. But there are several traditions, both in Western Magic and in Eastern Magic, that give supernatural powers to the milk. Undoing evil magic is one of the most common ones. So, maybe, the tradition saying that milk can extinguish the light of the Hand of Glory comes from this idea.

Also, the lore proclaims that only the one who holds the Hand of Glory sees under its light. Everybody else see no light. The “only the one” part is probably inaccurate. There are stories where whole groups of thieves used just one Hand to do their job.

Anyway, I don’t know if it is true that no other sees any light. The fact is that, because of the chemistry of the “fuel”, the light the Hand of Glory produces is a very pale yellowish-white light. Therefore, if anybody could actually see the light of the hand from outside the house, they would most probably believe it is a reflexion of the Moon light, and so they wouldn’t think twice of it. Those inside the house, would obviously be under the sleeping spell of the Hand, and therefore would not see the light.

For all these abilities the Hand of Glory holds, it was for long time a magic act favourite to the thieves and other outlaws that lurked in the dark wishing to pass unnoticed. Of course, nowadays this practise is very difficult, as we don’t hang thieves, in most parts of the world.

So, the next time you see in a shop a “Hand of Glory”, remember what it stands for. You can still, of course, obtain it as a part of your Halloween decoration. Just do not buy it as a symbol of glory.
